A British man has been killed in a motorcycle crash in Spain, the Foreign Office said today.
Named by sources as Christopher Williams and believed to be in his mid-40s, he died on Saturday in Ramales de la Victoria, Cantabria, in the north of the country.
He is thought to have been on a motorcycling trip at the time.
A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "We can confirm the death of British national in Ramales de la Victoria in Cantabria on August 7.
"Next of kin are aware and we are providing consular assistance to them."
Mr Williams fell from his Harley-Davidson bike and was run over by a passing vehicle, Spanish police said. He died immediately.
The motorcyclist was on his own at the time of the accident, which happened at about 3.30pm, a spokesman said.
He added: "It is not known why the man fell from his bike. The Civil Guard is investigating the incident."
