Bus spree
Greece's new Socialist government said that the state would buy back all 1,700 buses sold off by the former conservative administration in 1992, Reuter reports from Athens.
The Transport Minister, Ioannis Haralambous, said the 500,000 drachmas ( pounds 1,360) paid for each bus would be given back - but without any interest.
