The defence in the war crimes trial of former Liberian president, Charles Taylor, is seeking to postpone testimony by Naomi Campbell this week.

The British supermodel has been subpoenaed to appear in court on Thursday. She has avoided prosecution attempts to interview her about whether she received a "blood diamond" as a gift from Mr Taylor after a party hosted by Nelson Mandela in South Africa in 1997.

Prosecutors say her testimony will support their contention that Mr Taylor lied when he testified that he never possessed "blood diamonds".
