Flight ban

PALERMO (AFP) - The police chief, Mario Iovine, has banned low-level overflights of the city by civilian aircraft in order to prevent possible Mafia attacks from the sky, airport authorities said. The ban on flights below 2,500ft was seen as indicating that the authorities feared a spectacular new Mafia operation, following after the assassinations of two anti-Mafia judges.
