German woman fined for crushing mice in fetish video

A German woman who filmed crushing mice for a fetish video has been convicted of violating animal protection laws and fined.

The former German army soldier was ordered to pay €1,500 (£1,250) to an animal shelter.

The woman, 29, whose name wasn't given in keeping with German privacy laws, was convicted by a court in Koblenz of making a video in which she taped 33 mice to the ground and then stepped on them one by one.

The 33-year-old man who filmed the video was also convicted and given the same fine, the dpa news agency reported.

The woman said she made the video for an unidentified man she met online who offered her €100,000 (£83,500) for it. The woman delivered the film, but says she was not paid.
