Berlin (Reuter) - Margot Honecker said yesterday she had no intention of returning to Germany where her husband Erich is charged with manslaughter for killings at the Berlin Wall.

'It is not my country any more,' she said in a television interview en route from Moscow to Santiago, where the Honeckers' daughter lives. Mrs Honecker arrived in Santiago last night.

Some German politicians want Mrs Honecker to return to Berlin because investigators are looking into allegations that, as the East German Education Minister from 1963 to 1989, she forced political offenders to give their children away for adoption. But the allegations were not yet backed up by detailed evidence of individual cases, an investigator said.
