Korea stakes up
The US decided yesterday to deploy Patriot defence missiles in South Korea and revived plans for war games on the peninsula, as the dispute over North Korea's nuclear programme escalated a notch, Reuter reports from Washington. President Bill Clinton said he had agreed to a South Korean request to send the missiles as a defensive measure in light of rising tensions with North Korea.
