Bucharest - Romania's minority left-wing government, increasingly dependent on support from nationalist parties, gave the Romanian National Unity Party two cabinet posts for the first time.

The Prime Minister, Nicolae Vacaroiu, sacked the ministers of communications and agriculture and replaced them with Adrian Turicu and Valeriu Tabara. The two sacked ministers had been criticised by nationalist parties. Reuter
