Poland 'lacks leadership'
Warsaw - President Lech Walesa stepped up a confrontation with Poland's left-wing coalition, saying the country lacked leadership and that he would dismiss the government if he had the power to do so.
He accused the coalition of mismanagement in an interview with Rzeczpospolita newspaper and presented a case for creating a stronger presidency. Asked if he would remove the Prime Minister, Waldemar Pawlak, if he could, he said: 'You cannot dismiss a government without touching the prime minister.' Reuter
