Pope warns on League
The Pope has apparently broken a long silence on Italy's separatist Northern League, urging Italians to stay united, Reuter reports from Rome.
In unscripted remarks in his Christmas Day message, the Pope did not mention any political party by name but appeared to be referring to the fast-growing League, which wants to split Italy into three autonomous regions. Southerners accuse the League of racism.
