The Queen greeting the Speaker of the Hungarian parliament, Gyorgy Szabad, after her speech to MPs yesterday, in which she criticised the years of Communist rule: 'We have watched as the hope of a better world in 1945 was dashed by the darkness of the Iron Curtain and as the dream of 1956 (Revolution) was betrayed, to be followed by the bitter years of repression,' she said.
