Paris (Reuter) - A Japanese underworld boss was turned back at a Paris airport after flying in to seek hospital treatment. Police prevented Masaru Takumi, 56, deputy head of the Yamaguchi-gumi crime syndicate, from disembarking from his Japan Airlines flight from Tokyo at Charles de Gaulle airport. Mr Takumi, suffering from diabetes and a liver ailment, was arrested on 30 July for allegedly remitting funds overseas to buy land in violation of exchange laws.
