A young boy has rushed onto a stage at the Vatican while Pope Francis was delivering a speech.
The child was sitting with a group of others near the stage when he decided to go onto the stage in St Peter's Square. He then refused to leave the Pontiff's side despite several attempts by security personnel.
The boy hugged the Pope and kissed the cross around his neck, while the Pope spoke to residents living on the island of Lampedusa and migrants who have reached it.
Pope Francis did not seem to mind the boy joining him on stage, even when the boy sat in his chair while he spoke to the audience.
