Waste scandal
BONN (Reuter) - Germany, hit by a second toxic waste export scandal in three months, will consider ways to crack down on waste smuggling in talks by top environment officials next month, the environment ministry said.
French authorities caught at least nine lorries bringing syringes, bloodbags and other hospital waste from Germany over the past week and three French businessmen have been charged with illegally importing hospital waste.
