Whale killed
Norwegian whalers said yesterday they had harpooned the first minke whale this year under Oslo's scientific research programme, described by environmentalists as disguised commercial whaling, Reuter reports from Oslo. Norway plans to kill 136 minke whales this year as part of its research programme. Sixty per cent is good enough for steaks and the rest is made into sausages.
