Sydney (AFP) - The Supreme Court cleared Nick Greiner of accusations of corruption that forced him to resign in July as premier of the Australian state of New South Wales.

Two of the three judges said a decision of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) finding Mr Greiner guilty of corruption was 'wrong in law'. Mr Greiner, who led the only conservative government in mainland Australia, resigned from parliament after being forced to quit the leadership under pressure from his own party and political opponents.
