Floods ebb

The worst appears to be over in floods which have savaged Nepal, Bangladesh and north India, killing more than 4,000 people, Reuter reports from Kathmandu.

Officials in all three countries reported water levels dropping in dozens of rivers which, after ferocious monsoon rains, stormed over their banks, swept away villages, made millions homeless and caused heavy crop damage.
