Georgia backing
The Georgian leader, Eduard Shevardnadze, received President Clinton's conditional support for UN peace-keepers in his homeland yesterday and said he would make his case tomorrow to the UN Security Council, Reuter reports from Washington. The leaders, at a news conference after their first meeting, also expressed concern about rising nationalism in Russia.
