Georgian clashes
MOSCOW (Reuter) - Fresh fighting between Georgian troops and Abkhazian rebels wrecked prospects for a newly agreed ceasefire yesterday and reports from the Black Sea battle zone said many people had been killed. Each side accused the other of launching a big offensive on the Abkhazian coastal town of Gagra, just south of the Russian border.
