Hindus win case

A court ruled yesterday that Narasimha Rao, India's Prime Minister, overstepped the constitution when he dismissed a state government run by Hindu nationalists, AP reports from New Delhi.

The unprecedented decision by the Madhya Pradesh High Court is a victory for the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, whose governments were sacked in four states last December.
