China and Britain closed a ninth round of talks on Hong Kong yesterday with no sign of progress in the dispute over political reform for the colony which reverts to China in 1997, Reuter reports from Peking. Sir Robin McLaren, the British ambassador and chief negotiator, said the two sides would hold several more meetings before their foreign ministers meet at the UN General Assembly in New York next month.
