TOKYO, Oct 1 (Reuter) - An escaped budgie found his way home after two weeks by speaking out his name and address, the daily Tokyo Shimbun reported on Friday.

Housewife Teruko Tsuyukubo's budgerigar Pico-chan ('Little Pico') flew out of the front door in mid-September when a visitor opened it.

Three days later he flew into a petrol stand 30 km (20 miles) away and landed on the shoulder of an attendant, who gave him to a neighbour to look after. When his strength returned the eloquent bird chirped out his name, 'Tsuyukubo Pico,' and the area he lived in. His temporary hosts traced his house through town hall.
