IN BRIEF: Wife's body `burned in tandoori oven'
Thursday 06 July 1995
New Delhi - Police hunted for a former Congress Party youth leader, Sushil Kumar Sharma, who allegedly murdered his wife and tried to burn her body inside a tandoori oven in a garden restaurant. The dead woman was identified as Naina Sahni, 29, also a Congress Party activist. There were no guests at the open-air Bagia Barbeque restaurant at the Ashoka Yatri Niwas hotel at the time. The body was found after a policeman saw 15ft-high flames and grew suspicious. AP, AFP
