The Zulu-based Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leadership met yesterday to weigh the merits of boycotting or contesting South Africa's first all-race election as war talk rumbled throughout the country, Reuter reports from Johannesburg. The Inkatha chief, Mangosuthu Buthelezi, said he would not lead his party 'like lambs to the slaughter'. He told a rally on Saturday he opposed running in the election if it was held under the interim constitution.
