Japan's missing plutonium
A non-proliferation group asked the US State Department to seek the shutdown of a Japanese nuclear fuel plant where 70kg (154lb) of plutonium - enough for nine atomic bombs - is unaccounted for. The Nuclear Control Institute in Washington said the facility ay Tokai-mura 'should not be allowed to continue to operate until the integrity of safeguards is restored,' AP reports from Washington.
