DENVER (AP) - A judge has temporarily blocked a proposed Colorado law, which would remove protection for homosexuals, from taking effect yesterday while he decides whether to issue a more permanent order.

Jeffrey Bayless, the Denver district judge, was due to announce yesterday at a hearing whether he would extend the ban. He has heard testimony in the case all week. Amendment 2, approved by Colorado voters last November, prohibits state and local governments from passing laws that protect homosexuals from discrimination.
