Kabul attacks rebel positions

KABUL (Reuter) - A peace mission of mujahedin delegates left for Kabul yesterday as Islamic government jets raided renegade Hizbe Islami positions after rockets hit the Afghan presidential palace.

The 15-man peace team, sent by the Nangarhar province governor, Abdul Qadeer, aims to talk to the Hizbe Islami and the coalition government, rivals in nearly two weeks of fierce fighting around Kabul, which has left hundreds dead and forced tens of thousands to flee.
