The conservationist Richard Leakey said that being reinstated as head of the Kenya Wildlife Service was a dazzling victory over forces of hate intent on destroying the country's natural heritage, Reuter reports from Nairobi. 'Many did not share the joy of our good work and wanted me out. They have failed,' Mr Leakey told cheering employees at his offices. President Daniel arap Moi on Thursday rejected Mr Leakey's decision to quit after the conservationist was accused of corruption and racism.
