The former rebel leader Charles Taylor said yesterday his National Patriotic Front of Liberia would start disarming immediately, despite continued fighting in the country's south-east Reuter reports from Gbranga. 'At 1500 hours (GMT) tomorrow we are going to begin handing our guns to the Tanzanian forces, wherever they are,' Mr Taylor told reporters at his headquarters in the northern town of Gbarnga.
