Malaysia reviews Australia links
KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian government is reviewing business and other ties with Australia after a refusal by Paul Keating, the Australian Prime Minister, to apologise for disparaging remarks about the Malaysian leader, Mahathir Mohamad. 'This is a serious decision and could have far- reaching consequences,' said the Foreign Minister, Abdullah Badawi. The move came after Mr Mahathir rejected an attempt by Mr Keating to mend fences for calling him a 'recalcitrant' after Mr Mahathir's refusal to attend the Asia-Pacific economic summit. AFP
