He was a flamboyant figure of Roman night-life and his clientele included show-business stars and politicians. His body, with multiple stab wounds, was discovered on Sunday at his flat in the Trastevere district. A large sum of money was found on the body and the murder is believed to have taken place on New Year's Eve.
