Nicaraguan hostage crisis ends peacefully as Sandinista guerrillas fly to freedom
Daniel Ortega, the Sandinista leader and Nicaragua's former president, accompanying left-wing gunmen to Managua airport. The eight guerrillas flew to the north of the country after having freed the Vice-President, Virgilio Godoy, and other hostages from the conservative National Opposition Union whom they had held in their Managua headquarters since Friday.
