Power struggle in Greece after death of Andreas Papandreou
Greece's Prime Minister faces strong opposition in his push to control the ruling Socialist party after the death of the party's founder, Andreas Papandreou.
The Pasok party will start a congress tomorrow to elect Papandreou's replacement as the party leader and Costas Simitis is running neck-and- neck with the Interior Minister, Akis Tsohatzopoulos. "Simitis may be the logical choice but an increasing number of delegates feel that he can't be both Prime Minister and Pasok president," a senior Pasok official said. Athens - Reuter
