BONN - The German novelist Gunter Grass urged the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Begum Khaleda Zia, to protect the feminist writer Taslima Nasreen who is in hiding from an arrest warrant and death threats by Islamic fundamentalists. In Dhaka, a senior minister rejected European appeals to guarantee Ms Nasreen safe passage out of Bangladesh and said she would be allowed to leave only after facing justice. Reuter/AP
