Rebel offer
Kurdish rebels said they would release six kidnapped foreign tourists, including one Briton, if Turkey halted military operations against them in the south-east, Reuter reports from Ankara. The Kurd-Ha news agency, which is close to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), quoted guerrilla sources as saying David Rowbottom, his Australian companion Tania Miller and four Frenchmen, were their 'guests' and were not being ill-treated.
