Three Russians have been arrested for trying to sell enriched uranium, which could be used in the construction of nuclear devices, a spokesman for the Russian federal counter-intelligence agency said, Reuter reports from St Petersburg.

Yevgeny Lukin said the three were detained in St Petersburg with 7lb of highly enriched uranium stolen from a top-secret plant in Moscow. 'We have information they were trying to sell the uranium to Germany for dollars 300 (pounds 200) a gramme,' he said.
