Johannesburg - Muziwendoda Mdluli, the South African spy chief found shot dead in his car last week, had been investigating the possible involvement of fellow-agents in the failed coup in the Comoro Islands, a South African newspaper reported. The Sunday Independent quoted a National Intelligence Agency director as saying the agency believed Mdluli had been killed after making a breakthrough in an inquiry into a possible agency role in the coup, crushed last week.
