Syria 'holds Israeli pilot'

The Israeli pilot Ron Arad, shot down over Sidon in Lebanon in 1986, is being held hostage in Syria and not Iran, as previously thought, a PLO security official told Ha'aretz newspaper in an interview published yesterday, AFP reports from Jerusalem. But he said the PLO did not know exactly where Captain Arad was detained in Syria.
