Turks step up anti-Kurd drive
Turkey said it would send 10,000 volunteer commandos into the south-east of the country as part of a drive to crush Kurdish separatist rebels, Reuter reports from Ankara. The Prime Minister, Tansu Ciller, told MPs that the troops, trained in anti-guerrilla warfare, would start moving in next month.
