UN rules on Kuwait-Iraq border

The Security Council defined the border between Iraq and Kuwait in an attempt to end the tensions that led to the Gulf war, AP reports from New York.

But Baghdad refused to accept the 202-kilometre (126-mile) border mapped out over the last two years by the UN's Iraq-Kuwait Boundary Demarcation Commission. The council voted 15-0 to accept the commission's report and demanded that both Iraq and Kuwait respect it.
