US budget pact
WASHINGTON (Reuter) - Congressional negotiators and the White House announced a tentative budget agreement late on Friday, but President Bill Clinton was so intent on selling the plan that he endorsed it while details were still being hammered out. Negotiators said the accord would cut the deficit by nearly dollars 500bn ( pounds 335bn) over five years.
