US helps Luanda
US spy satellites are providing Angola's air force with intelligence information, dramatically increasing the accuracy of its attacks on Unita rebels, Reuter reports from Johannesburg.
'The Americans . . have been furnishing the Angolan government with such information since soon after Clinton switched sides,' a diplomat said, quoting sources in the Angolan military. Recent government successes included air attacks on Unita's headquarters in Huambo and a drive towards the city, a Unita stronghold.
