Uzbekistan's top court sentenced a former vice-president to three years in jail for abuse of power, then granted him a pardon, Reuter reports from Moscow.
But the court ruled that Shukrullo Mirsaidov would have to pay back dollars 5.6m ( pounds 3.8m) - damages he was alleged to have caused the state through illegal contacts with a foreign businessman.
