Whale-blubber alimony
Impoverished Arctic residents will be able to make alimony payments with whale blubber, musk ox or even an iceberg chunk, under new legislation proposed in Canada, Reuter reports from Vancouver. The scheme recognises the fact that unemployment among aboriginal people in the Northwest Territories averages more than 60 per cent.
