Woman rejects 'hit-list'
Wednesday 13 October 1993
JOHANNESBURG (Reuter) - A white woman accused in the murder of the African National Congress leader Chris Hani said yesterday she had gathered information on political leaders to expose their hypocrisy, not to kill them.
Gaye Derby-Lewis, 54, who is on trial for the murder of the Communist Party general secretary on 10 April, is said to have drawn up a hit-list including Hani and Nelson Mandela.
Her husband Clive, 57, a member of the Conservative Party (CP), and Polish-born Janusz Walus, 38, are the other defendants in the trial.
