Year of no dog
China enters the 'Year of the Dog' in one month but the official People's Daily wants an end to the 'uncivilised and unhealthy' practice of keeping dogs as pets, Reuter reports from Peking. 'More dogs bring more problems,' the paper said of the craze for (illegal) pet dogs. It said they spread rabies and pollute the environment.
