Three Chinese engineers building a road in Yemen were kidnapped by tribesmen demanding the project be stopped, Reuter reports from Sanaa.

The abductions took place on the same day that three French tourists were freed after being held for 20 days by tribesmen protesting at the rerouting of a road originally planned to cross their land.
