What a day!

Sunday, 3 July 2005

You do not seethat every day, as they say. Yesterday was not every day. It was not everyday, ordinary, commonplace, drab, routine. Decent free concerts in London, Cornwall, Edinburgh and around the world. Consciousness of African poverty - and, more important, of what needs to be done about it - raised. Pride Day to celebrate the self-esteem of what is now known as the GLBT community. Dazzling rugby (quick: next). Fine cricket. Thrilling tennis, even if they are allowed another go if they miss their first serve. Wherever you were, a day to say: I was there.
