The Mad Hatter of London offices is available to rent near Waterloo.

Each meeting room in this quirky block is themed around a surreal scene from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, with hanging teapot lights, faux topiary archways and black and white chequerboard ceilings among the design highlights.

Samantha Kopsch, of Peldon Rose, was asked by client Office Space in Town to create "something totally out there" that would attract the area's blossoming media and tech start-up scene.

She decided to bring Lewis Carroll's classic novel to life after stumbling upon the nearby Mad Hatter Hotel and learning about Waterloo's history as a hat-making hotspot.

Employees are greeted in reception by the giant legs of Alice, in a nod to the scene in which she munches on a magical 'Eat Me' cake and grows so large she breaks through the house. Her torso and head can be seen emerging on the roof.

Playing cards are painted on to the ceiling of the Queen of Hearts meeting room and there are White Rabbit-shaped chairs for the boss in the smaller White Queen rooms, which open up into a bright 40-seat conference suite.

The grinning Cheshire Cat dominates the back wall of an informal breakout room while Tweedledum and Tweedledee prop up the TV in presentation suite.

Glossy white corridors have been designed to recreate the trippy sensation of falling down the rabbit hole as you move around the space.

Businesses hoping to inspire their staff can rent between 480 sq ft and 7,000 sq ft of the shared office space. The site comes with a roof garden, break areas, free use of the air-conditioned meeting rooms and on-site IT support.

Giles Fuchs, CEO of Office Space in Town, has enjoyed a positive reaction to the space and even allows the Lewis Carroll Society to meet there.

"The building has been full, with a waiting list since it opened in 2014," he said. "The clients in the building tell us the inspirational surroundings make it easier to attract and keep better quality staff than they ever had before."

OSiT also has a Twenties-themed office in Mayfair, an English Literature-themed office in Farringdon, a super yacht-themed office in Monument and a capital cities-themed office in Euston. Its latest office in Liverpool Street is Monopoly-themed, featuring bespoke 5ft playing pieces and a 'Go' sign hanging outside.

Serviced office space is priced on a per desk basis, starting from £600 per month. Call Search Office Space on 020 3858 2584 for more details.
