Almanack: Inadequate briefing
THE FIA, motor sport's international governing body, made a strange choice of narrator for the official video of last year's world championship: Jonathan Ross. Racing fans speculate that the TV star's briefing may have been a little inadequate: his pronunciations of Alesi, Badoer and Ligier are most kindly described as unorthodox. No amount of coaching, however, could help Jonathan pronounce Rubens Barrichello.
